About Physioveda Yoga

Goals of physiotherapy and yoga are to improve strength & flexibility the bigest difference is yoga is for normal people who does not have postural malalignment, pain, anxiety. The Physiotherapist asses your muscles which holding your yoga posture and can help with physiotherapy techniques (Soft tissue release) as well as diffuse pain and tension.

If any physical activity not done properly it can lead to injury

Adopting a yoga posture suddenly can cause an injury in some positions like the sirshasana(headstand), which include weigh on the head and forearms, and the sarvangasana or shoulder stand.

Some asana are not safe like if you have injury on the neck then all opposite position should be avoided or if you have serious back injuries should do less forward bending posture. If you will try to do difficult poses too firstly, you can suffer muscle tears, injury to hamstring, shoulder, wrist (May lead to long lasting pain)

One of the problem with yoga is that not all poses can be practiced by everyone. mostly men have less flexibility in comparison to women, injury can occur when men try too hard. People who have extra weight have difficulties in many poses that require folding your body in half.
